How to get wax off of table linens
A beautiful candle lit evening can really set the mood. Dont let that mood get ruined by cold, hard puddles of wax on your table linens the next morning. The wax can be removed, and your linens will be ready for another romantic evening by candle light. The first step is to scoop up all the excess wax with a spoon or spatula. Set up your ironing board and get your iron warm. Place the linen on the ironing board and cover the wax with a brown paper bag. Place the warm iron on top of the paper bag. Be careful to use a warm iron, not a hot iron. Iron the bag until the wax no longer transfers to the paper. Any stain that is left on your linen should be treated with either a laundry pre-treat solution or full strength detergent applied directly to the stain. Always test an inconspicuous part of the table linen for color fastness prior to applying a stain remover. Wash the tablecloth in the hottest water that is safe that the material type. Wax based stains need to be melted away from the linen fibers. Make sure the stain is completely removed prior to placing the table linen in the dryer. Wash the table linen again if any stain remains.
