Think Table Linens

Table linens are a must for dining tables

Round Napkins Round napkins can be quickly created out of square napkins. Fold the square napkin in half twice, so you have a smaller square. Tie one end of a string to a pen and the other to a tack. Place the tack in the folded corner of the napkins and use the pen as you would a compass to create a curve. Cut along the line you have created and finish the edge using a serger.

Table Runner Table runners add a decorative touch to any table and are easy to create. Your first step should be to cut linen to the appropriate size and then fold it in half lengthwise. Be sure to fold the linen so that the right sides are together. The bottom edge should now be seamed. Turn the fabric right side out and then press along your seams. Use the same technique on the other end of the fabric.

Hot Pad Hot pads are great for protecting you hands and your table. Your first step should be to cut out six to eight pieces of linen in the appropriate size. Once they are all cut out they should be stacked. Mark diagonal lines across the top layer and stitch the pieces together.

A rotary cutter can then be used to make a cross hatch in the center of each square that was created from sewing the diagonal lines. The bottom layer should not be cut through. The layers of cut fabric will fluff up when they are washed.
